Meet the Founders Behind FluentBridge

Two friends who built their lives abroad and now help others do the same.

A young woman with red hair, wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, smiling and resting her chin on her hand, sitting in a relaxed pose on a chair, with a white background.
Two young people standing outdoors, smiling, with a lush green background. The woman has shoulder-length brown hair, a white blouse with puffed sleeves, and a tattoo on her left arm. The man has curly blonde hair, sunglasses, and is wearing a light brown shirt.

Our Story

FluentBridge was born from two parallel stories that met in Vienna and turned into a shared mission.

At nineteen, both of us left our home countries with no safety net, no family nearby, and definitely no secret trust fund waiting to save us. We worked, studied, built our networks from scratch, and learned firsthand what it means to survive as newcomers in a foreign country. Those years shaped us far more than any classroom ever could.

Before launching FluentBridge, we spent years teaching and volunteering.

Janek taught languages for five years, working with people who had just arrived in Austria, including refugees building a new life from zero. He later volunteered in schools in Uganda.

Julka studied business psychology and volunteered in Tanzania, where she saw how transformative access to quality education can be.

Our friendship grew through adventure. Together we travelled to more than fifty countries: from Iran to Israel, across the United States, and through the chaotic beauty of Southeast Asia. Everywhere we went, one truth repeated itself: language builds bridges. It shapes opportunity, identity, and confidence. It can open a door in a new country or close it. And we knew we wanted to create something that kept those doors open for others.

That’s how FluentBridge started.

A small idea between two friends who know what it feels like to be foreign, ambitious, overwhelmed, hopeful, broke, excited, lost, and determined all at the same time.

Today we help companies support their international teams through tailored language training delivered by certified, independent teachers. But at its core, FluentBridge remains what it was on day one: two people who built their lives abroad and now help others do the same.

If you ever wondered whether language can change a life, trust us. We’ve seen it. We lived it. And we built FluentBridge because we want others to experience that bridge too.
